Mommy goes back to work!

This week I started back to work.  I had my first shift on Sunday night and it went well.  Tuesday was my first 24-hour shift on the aircraft.  Avery woke up right as mommy was about to leave, so I went and got her up.  It was so nice to hug and kiss her goodbye.  Daddy took Avery to Pepaw and Grammy's house before heading into work.  Grammy is going to watch Avery every Tuesday while mommy is at work.  I am sure she is going to be very spoiled.  Mommy called Grammy a couple times to get updates and was so glad to hear they were having a great day.  It was so good to see her Wednesday morning when I got home, and I am so grateful for Aunt Roni watching Avery so mommy could get a little nap.
Avery and Mommy before she went to work!

I cannot say it too many times...We love our family and are so grateful for all their love and support!

Avery's Christening

Avery's Christening was held on Sunday August 28, 2011.  This day was very special for our family as Avery was presented to God.  Trey and I made a commitment to raise her in a Christian environment, teach her about God's love and his word.  Aunt Roni and Uncle Mike are Avery's Godparents.  We all look forward to the day when she truly understands God's love for us.

Avery looked gorgeous in the gown her Godparents got for her!

The shoes and socks were adorable but did not stay on very long.
She was all smiles when father baptized her with the water.

After the service, we hosted a lunch at hour home to celebrate this special occasion.  Trey and I are very gratful for our amazing family and friends that love Avery very much.  We are truly blessed, and we know there were some special people in heaven looking down on us on this special day.

Cami's Princess Birthday

Avery went to her friend Cami's Princess Birthday Party this past weekend.  It was so cute to see all the little girls in their princess attire.  There was even a special guest Princess at the party.  Avery was not old enough to take it all in, but she had fun watching all the big girls.  Her prince, Noah, was asleep during the party but she will see him again soon!
Gigi and Aunt Taylor had fun taking pictures of Avery before the party in her princess attire!

Happy 3rd Birthday Cami

Splish, splash!

Avery is quite the little fish.  She loved the pool while we were on vacation, and she has started to love bath time.  She has started taking a bath almost every night, and daddy has the pleasure of giving her a bath on most nights.  When she is fussy and difficult to please on some nights, a bath usually cheers her up.  She loves to try and drink the water when we are rinsing her off.  It is so funny to watch her stick her tongue out to try and get the water.  We hope she continues to enjoy the water!  Maybe we have a future swimmer on our hands.  Hopefully she will want do swim team like her mommy and aunt Robyn when they were younger.
If you look closely at the picture below, daddy got a present from Avery on his right shoulder.
Daddy might need to get a bath after Avery!
Daddy and Mommy like to make a shampoo sundae on Avery's head before they massage it into her curly hair.  She looks so sweet!
Avery likes her baths so much that she gets a tad upset with us when we take her out of the tub.
She gets over it quick and laughs at us when we put on her lotion and PJ's.

Cheeks

I could kiss these cheeks all day long!
Avery has such sweet, big cheeks.  Check out the paci lines on her cheeks after she spit her paci out.
I have been very fortunate to spend the last 12 weeks with this sweet angel.  They have been so much fun, and I am so glad that we had this time together.  Next week I go back to work, and I am working 2 days each week.  I look forward to getting texts and emails with pictures of this sweet face.  We are very blessed to have family look after Avery on the days when mommy and daddy both work.

Earthquake?

Well, it appears Avery experienced her first earthquake today.  Fortunately, we were not fazed by it.  Mommy was on the phone with Aunt Tay Tay and noticed the shaking, but assumed it was the result of our neighbors motorcycle, someones bass or a plane.  Mommy even got up and shut the garage door. I did not realize it was an earthquake until I got off the phone, and read my text messages from daddy and other family members.  That was why everyone was calling while I was talking to Aunt Taylor.  Avery was enjoying a delicious bottle, and the shaking didn't seem to disturb her.  We had just gotten home from an afternoon walk with our friends, Amanda Cami and Noah.  We are very grateful that this did not happen on our walk as that might have been a little scary.  We are praying for those who have been affected by the earthquake today as well as those who are in the path of hurricane Irene.

Summertime is the best time!

Thursday night we joined Pepaw and Grammy for dinner and some beach music at North Hills.  The weather was nice that evening and we enjoyed hanging out while listening to the band.  We are glad that it is starting to cool down because it has been too hot for us to do all the fun things we enjoy doing outside.  Mommy and Avery are back to walking every morning and we love hanging out on the porch at night.  The music isn't too loud for Avery and she loves dancing to the music.
Again, she is sticking her tongue out at mommy!
Cait and Jared came to hang out with us this week.  We were so glad to spend time with them and can't wait to hang out again soon.  Avery thinks they are so much fun!

Daddy enjoying the music and good comapny.
Someone had so much fun, she eventually fell asleep.

Daddy is 30!

Today is Trey's birthday, and he is 30.  We had a low key celebration this weekend with family, he played a round of golf and enjoyed a lot of yummy food.  Trey has been my rock and more than one can ask for in a husband and best friend.  This last year has been fabulous, and I can't wait to celebrate more birthdays with him.  He is an amazing father.  Avery and I are truly blessed to have him in our lives!

Happy Birthday Daddy!  We love you so much.

Visits and Sleepovers

Last week Aunt Taylor came to see us for 2 days.  She brought Simmons, her dog, as well.  During the day we went shopping.  She picked out her bridesmaid dresses for her wedding in April.  We also hit up Cameron Village for some fun shopping and lunch with our friend Allison.  After a fun day of shopping we ventured back to casa de King for a yummy dinner and some relaxation.  It was beautiful outside and we enjoyed some time on the front porch.  This has to be one of my favorite features of our house.
Avery was happy to see Aunt Tay Tay!
That night, my sister brought Alexis and Samantha over to join in on the sleepover fun.  Their older sister, Madison, was having her birthday party so they got to spend the night and hang out with us all day Thursday.  Below is a picture of Avery and all the guests at her sleepover.

Avery got a lot of attention from her Aunt and Cousins!
Samantha had a blast getting the dogs to do tricks.  Simmons can do some really fancy tricks, and she had so much fun.  Sadie just sticks to the basic sit and down.  We had so much fun watching her coax the dogs.

Look forward to our next sleepover!
