White Christmas

I was suppose to work a 24 hour shift on Christmas day and Trey was looking forward to a relaxing day of nothing. The weather forecast changed much of our intended plans. Due to the forecasted precipitation we were not able to fly much at work on Saturday and I was sent home on Christmas night. Sunday morning we woke up to this wonderful view. We had a very relaxing day, hanging out at the house and enjoying the snow. Trey had the privilege of shoveling the driveway and he did an awesome job.Sadie loved the snow. I think she would have stayed outside all day if we would let her. It is so much fun to watch her run around the backyard.

I love this weather and hope see it again next year when we are a family of 3. Especially so we can take a big ski trip. Skiing and sushi are 2 things that I truly miss, but it is all more than worth the sacrifice. I have not felt any movements from baby King yet, but I am anxiously awaiting that feeling. They say I could feel it anytime in the next few weeks. New moms usually take longer to notice the movement. We are very anxious about our appointment on Dec 29th. Hopefully, we will be able to find out if our little angel is a boy or girl.

I know we are going to have a lot of memories on this fun playground.

Merry Christmas

We began our Christmas weekend celebration on Thursday, when Trey's parents came into town. We and a wonderful time hanging out with them. I cooked a large meal, in which I baked a stuffed chicken. This was my first time doing this and everyone seemed to enjoy it all. Even Sadie, as you can see she was caught licking the counter tops. After dinner we spent some time together and played an intense game of dominoes. It was a wonderful evening. On Friday afternoon, we went to the children's Christmas eve service with my family. After, we all went to my parents house for dinner, family fun and to exchange gifts. It is so much fun to watch my nieces open presents. Trey and I got the girls these Nerf guns that they were very excited about opening. Below is a picture of my 3 nieces with Peepaw!
I think Christmas is so much fun when children are around. We had a blast watching the girls open their presents. It so wonderful to see how excited they get. My parents got Madi and Alexis got a basketball shooting game that the entire family enjoyed. Nothing like a little holiday competition.
Madi and Alexis waiting in the kitchen for the reveal of their big gift.
Wasn't long before the adults joined in on the fun.
It was a great Christmas Eve. We are especially looking forward to Christmas next year and our special new addition being with us all. Baby King got some wonderful presents this year. He or she is very blessed and has so many eager people that can wait to have he/she in their life.
We hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas!

McCall Christmas & Remembering an Amazing Man

This past weekend we headed I40 west-bound to hang out with Trey's family and then do our annual Christmas exchange with Cathy's, Trey's mom, side of the family. While in Hickory we were able to pick up some furniture that we ordered. Can't wait for it all to be finished and in our home. Cathy took me to a bunch of fun shops to get more Christmas decorations and ornaments. I love collecting Christmas ornaments. We had a relaxing evening in Hickory and were able to exchange gifts with Taylor and her boyfriend, Andrew.

Bree and Cam (baby King's future cousin and buddy).

Looking at the family calendar that we made for Mawmaw and Pawpaw.

Uncle Felix and Rush.

Saturday we all piled in the grocery-getter and headed to Kannapolis. This year was different from years past, as we had our gathering at Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house. Trey and I have been blessed to each have 1 set of living grandparents. Over the past few weeks his grandfather, Pawpaw, has had a decline in his health. Pawpaw Rex is an amazing man. I have been blessed to share many special occasions and holidays with him. He has beautiful voice, wonderful sense of humor, and an unmeasurable love for his family and our Lord. We are very grateful for the time we were able to spend with Pawpaw, Mawmaw and the rest of the McCall family on Saturday. When we returned home on Sunday afternoon, we learned that Pawpaw had gone to be with the good Lord. Baby King will be Pawpaw's second great-grandchild, and he/she is going to be so blessed to have a special guardian angel.

Pawpaw,
We love you; We miss you; We know that you are in a better place!

The Most Wonderful TIme of the Year!

We have been spending a lot of time getting the house decorated for Christmas, as well as doing some home improvements before we find out the sex of baby King on December 29th. I was able to get some nice pictures of the house in the snow before heading to work the other morning.

I have been very fortunate not to have experienced any nausea during this pregnancy. Starting to get those bursts of energy everyone talks about in their second trimester. I am having fun taking on all the projects around our house. Of course I have had a lot of wonderful helpers, especially Trey. Hope you enjoy the pictures of our house all decorated for Christmas. We are looking forward to Christmas and finishing out 2010 with friends and family.

Thanksgiving 2010

This year we have been extremely blessed and were very thankful to be able to spend Thanksgiving with both of our families. Trey's parents, sister and her boyfriend came into town on Wednesday and we went to the Canes game. It was so much fun. We always enjoy a Canes game. This one was close and fun, even though they lost.

On Thanksgiving day we had a great breakfast. I made my mom's monkeybread and an amazing breakfast casserole from Cathy. That afternoon we went to my sister's house for great food and family. We had a great time with everyone and were lucky to be able to share Thanksgiving with both families. As usual, my nieces were so much fun and everyone enjoyed hanging out by the fire. Baby King is going to be so loved and we looked forward to him/her being with us for Thanksgiving in 2011.

Baby Lily James

I had a great time gathering with friends to celebrate with Megan and get her prepared before sweet Lily James makes her debut in January.

Sweet Parker joined us for the shower and it was so fun holding her and having her model some of Lily's new hats.

It was great catching up with dear friends and celebrating with the mom-to-be. Wish I could see these girls more often, but I look forward to some Greensboro road-trips to hang out with Megan and Lily in 2011.
