2 Month Check Up

Last week Molly had her 2 Month check up with the pediatrician.  She did great and got a good report from the doctor.  Just like big sister, Molly loved wiggling on the exam  table to hear the crinkling of the paper.  She is on target for her development and is continuing to grow and be healthy.  Molly got 3 shots and did amazing.  She barely cried and wasn't cranky or febrile at all the rest of the day.   Mommy was so grateful.  Avery loved watching Molly get her check up.  I think she thought it was her own episode of  Doc McStuffins.

Two Month Statistics:
Weight: 11 pounds 7 ounces (62%)
Height: 23.25 inches (80%)
Head: 15.5 inches (62%)
Here is a blog post on Avery's 2 month check up for comparrisons.

Molly 2 Months

Molly turned 2 months May 24th.  I managed to get pictures taken that day but never did a post because we left for the beach that afternoon.  The last 2 months have been busy.  We are still adapting to life with 2 little girls.  Molly is very easy going and fits perfectly into our family.  Molly is a very happy baby.  She is still our tall girl, but is starting to get that adorable baby pudge.  In the last month, Molly has gone to the beach, pool, church and lots of play dates with her sister.  Still not sleeping through the night on a consistent basis, but is starting to get into a steady nap and feeding routine.  Mommy is hoping that Molly will be sleeping through the night by the time she goes back to work in 2 weeks.  She is adored by all, and her big sister is her biggest fan.  Avery loves her sister and is always kissing, hugging and checking on little sister.

Molly at 2 Months:
  • Babbling and cooing. She can recognize our voices and faces.  So sweet!
  • Smiles a lot and makes adorable facial expressions.
  • Sleeps in her crib at night and for some naps. Takes great naps in her swing and car seat too!
  • Waking up once at night , but has gone a few nights without waking.
  • Loves her piano floor mat, but no a huge fan of tummy time.
  • Loves the water and bath time.  Only cries when we take her out of her little tub.
  • Wearing 3 month clothing and size 1 diapers.
  • Breastfed, but is great at taking a bottle too!
  • Doesn't are much for a paci, but has found her hands and sometimes sucks her fingers and thumb.
  • Loves kicking her feet and moving her arms.

We love watching Molly grow over the past 2 months.
Being parents to these 2 amazing girls is more than we could ever ask for.

MMO

We are so blessed that Avery was able to be apart if the 1 year old class at St. Andrews Mothers Morning Out. It was very beneficial for her, as well as mommy and daddy. She had 2 amazingly sweet teachers, Miss Caryn & Miss Erin. Avery loved her teachers and buddies in her classroom. She became a toddler and learned so much this year. We are very grateful for all our new friends and look forward for the start of school next year in the 2 year old room. Until then we are enjoying our summer with trips to the beach, pool days, and many play dates with friends.

Avery on the first and last day of MMO 1 year old 2012-2013 school year

They had a fun end of the year party.  After eating lunch and enjoying many treats, the kids went outside for some fun games and water activities.  Avery and some of her friends decided it would be fun to cool off in the water tubs.  Her and Millie hoped right in with their party dresses and shoes on.  It was adorable and the girls had a blast.  We are very grateful for all the sweet friendships we have made this year.

Phone Pics and Busy Life

We have been staying busy this past month and have some fun plans ahead as summer approaches. It's not always easy getting out of the house with 2 kiddos, but we manage to do it a lot these days. It goes much smoother when I have a second set of hands. The weather is finally warming up and we are enjoying as much time outside as possible. Our stroller is getting a lot of use. Daddy and Pepaw replaced a beam and swings on our swing set, so we can enjoy lots of time in our backyard. I'll post pics once the total play set renovation is complete. Maybe mommy will come home from the beach this weekend and it will be done ;-). On that note, daddy has his first weekend alone with both girls while mommy goes to the beach with a bunch of moms from Avery's school. I am excited about some R & R but will also miss my girls! Here are some pics from my phone. It has become my main camera these days. I've been blogging from my phone since the computer was moved upstairs and can't figure out how to get captions with each picture.

Mothers Day

We spent 3 nights in Hickory to visit with Gigi & Papa this past weekend. Mommy was able to do some shopping and have some special time out and about. I was able to FINALLY find chairs for our dining room. They are being stained and hopefully will be finished in the next couple weeks.
Treys extended family and grandmother were able to meet Molly and we had a lot of fun spending time with everyone. Avery really enjoyed swimming at Gigi and Papa's house with her daddy, Papa and cousin, Camilla.
Both girls did great on the ride home Saturday evening. We all went to church together for the first time on Sunday. My girls, with the help of their daddy, got me a beautiful necklace with their first initials on the charms. After a yummy lunch and some good naps, we had dinner with Grammy, Pepaw, Aunt Robyn and Uncle Ian. I love dressing my girls in matching outfits and plan on doing it until they object. We all went to Goodberries for our favorite ice cream after dinner. It was a great Mother's Day weekend. I'm very blessed to have a loving and supportive husband, two beautiful and healthy girls, and fabulous family members!

Molly's Nursey

I did finish Molly's nursery before she was born, but I neglected doing a post. Since Molly's birth we have finalized some finishing touches. I love her sweet, girly nautical nursery! Lots of loving family members helped with this project and we are very grateful. Also love our many Etsy finds!!!

First "Real" Haircut

A few months ago I trimmed the back of her hair because she was growing a mullet, but last week she went to my hairdresser for her first real haircut.  She sat in the big chair with a little booster and let Miss Kristen put the cape on her.  Kristen was very surprised at how well Avery did and told us that most kids start crying when they try to put the cape on them.  Avery sat in the chair very well with a snack and some iPhone time to help keep her still.  Avery does not have a lot of hair to cut, but she was in need of a clean-up in the back of her hair.  Mommy is ready for the front of Avery's hair to grow long enough to stay in a ponytail and bow.  She is also very proud of her big girl for doing so well.

Avery got to play at the park with aunt Robyn while mommy got her hair cut.
