Looking back on 2011

In January, I turned 28, we found out we were having a baby girl, started working on the nursery and began thinking of baby girl names.  We had sleepovers and tried to stay warm in the cold.

In February, we were full of love.  We celebrated with engaged friends, worked on the nursery and around our home, finalized the name of our baby girl and took a weekend trip to Pinehurst.

In March, we welcomed my third trimester, had our first baby shower, celebrated birthdays and got anxious for Avery's arrival.  Mommy had a girls weekend in the mountains and daddy played lots of golf.

In April, we celebrated Easter, and we were given  baby showers from friend and family as well as my co-workers at CAC.  Had more sleepovers with nieces, experienced a tornado, started our garden and mommy was nesting a lot!

In May we got more anxious for Avery's arrival, my belly got huge and I was going to the doctor weekly. We celebrated birthdays and mother's day.  Took day trips to Wrightsville Beach and celebrated more engaged friends.

In June, I lived in the pool, stopped working on my due date and Avery arrived 3 days later!  We became parents on June 6th and it was the most amazing day in 2011.  We enjoyed our new baby girl with many family members and friends.  Attended a wedding and Trey celebrated his first Father's day.  We loved watching Avery grow and figure out her new world.

In July, was our trip to Hickory to celebrate the fourth of July and where Avery went on her first boat ride.  Avery quickly became mommy's #1 shopper, and her cousins were awesome babysitters. We celebrated with friends that had momentous birthdays and ones that welcomed new babies.  Mommy and Avery went away for a girl's weekend.  Said good-bye to our Mamaw, but will see her in heaven one day.

In August, we spent a week in Kiawah with family.  Daddy played golf, Avery had her first trip to the beach and mommy relaxed.  Celebrated many birthdays, including daddy's 30th.  Avery was Christened and mommy started back at work after 12 weeks off.  We had trips to the pool, had tons of play dates, enjoyed beach music, experienced our first earthquake and Hurricane Irene made a big mess!

September was the start of football season, many weddings and pre-wedding celebrations.  Mommy and daddy had our first weekend away from Avery.  We were amazed as how much Avery had continued to grow and fell more in love with her smiles and laughs.

October was a busy month...more Wolfpack football games, birthdays, wedding, showers and juvenile diabetes walk.  At four months, Avery loved to go on walks. She began to eat foods and meet new baby friends.  She was a pumpkin for Halloween and had fun at the fair.

In November,  we gave Thanks for all of our blessings! We celebrated some big Wolfpack wins and 2 wedding in one weekend.  Avery and daddy went to visit family and surprise Gigi.  Mommy and daddy celebrated four years of marriage and Avery started to love her food.

December was special, we celebrated Jesus' birth.  Avery turned 6 months and continued to be our sweet baby girl.  We decorated the house and visited Santa Clause.  Attended many celebrations, a long weekend in Hickory,  and had a very Merry and Special Christmas.

Looking back, 2011 sure was amazing.
We cherish our memories and had so much fun.
Our family is truly blessed, and we look forward to 2012.
Happy New Year from The King Family!
