Ski weekend

       This past weekend Avery got to spend a lot of time with both grandparents.  She had a blast playing, going for walks and even did some shopping with Gigi and Papa.  We got good reports and a lot of picture texts.  We are so grateful to have such wonderful family.   

         Mommy and Daddy went to Wintergreen this weekend and enjoyed some skiing.  We were joined by Aunt Robyn, Uncle Ian and friends, Katie and Derrick.   We hit the slopes Friday afternoon despite some rain.  We woke up to snow and much colder weather on Saturday....which was great for skiing.  The conditions were much better on Saturday and we hit the slopes all day and into the evening.  We were happy to get some use of our skis and boots, after missing out on last ski season (Avery was in mommy's belly)!

 Our 4 hour adventure was very comfortable in Aunt Roni's Suburban.  We were even able to transport 6 sets of skis and boots with us.  Movies made the car ride much nicer.

        We saw so many little ones on the slopes and kept saying how much we can't wait to get Avery out there.  They even had a kiddie snow park with toys, rides and tubing.  They say "the earlier, the better."  Might be seeing miss Avery on a set of skis in 2013.  Trey and I really enjoy skiing, and we know there are many family ski trips in our future.  We are both itching to go back out west in the coming years.

       Avery is becoming more independent each day.  She is playing on her own, getting into a lot of things, and can finally hold her own bottle.  She use to be able to hold the bottle when it was not full and would loose interest after a short time.  In the last week, she has started taking down her bottle all by herself.  She lays on a pillow and sucks the hole thing down.  Sweet girl has also mastered her sippy cup.  In the coming months we will begin the transition of stopping the bottle and it will not be long before she is off formula and onto whole milk!

Weekend in MHC

      A few weekend ago we spent the weekend in Morehead City with Aunt Taylor.  She and Andrew will be getting married in 2 months.  We are so excited for them and are looking forward to a week at the beach.  Andrew is great and we are happy to have him in the family.  While in MHC, we helped throw a shower for the future bride and groom.  Avery was a very good girl, and we all had a great time!

A weekend with Gigi and Papa

      Avery spent last weekend in Hickory with her Gigi and Papa while mommy and daddy went to Charlotte for our good friends, Haley and Kurt's wedding.  We met Gigi in Greensboro Friday afternoon and made the switch (haha).  Avery loves being spoiled by her grandparents and she always has a great time.  We got a lot of photos updating us on what our sweet baby girl was doing.

On Saturday, Avery went to Kanapolis with Gigi and Papa to spend the afternoon with the McCall side of the family.  She had fun playing with her cousin, Cam.  She also got to spend some time with Mawmaw, her great grandmother.  Cam let Avery borrow her toy walker and Avery loved it. 

We hope these fun videos work.  Enjoy watching Avery go in the walker.  It is so cute to see her little legs go so fast.

Avery had so much fun she slept the enitre ride back to Hickory.  Cam let Avery bring her walker back with her, and she has enjoyed exploring around our house.  She especially loves chasing Sadie.

We had a blast at Haley and Kurt's wedding.  We are so happy for these 2 special people, and they could not be more perfect for one another.

We were very please to here that Avery was a good girl and had a blast with her Gigi and Papa.  Avery is happy that Gigi and Papa are coming to Apex next weekend while mommy and daddy spend the weekend in Wintergreen.  We made a trip to Ikea while in Charlotte this past weekend.  We brought Avery home a tunnel and she has been having a blast with it.  She especially loves playing peek-a-boo with it.  

First Snow

Avery woke up this morning to her first snow.  It is not much of a snow, but it was enough to capture a few photos of her with the white dusting in our backyard. 

 It will not be long before her daddy is helping her build a snowman and taking her sledding!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our warm winter, but we are very please to see some snow.  We hope it sticks around long enough for our mini ski trip this coming weekend.  Avery is looking forward to another fun weekend with her grandparents.
