Picture texts

I am so grateful for technology.  It has allowed me to get pictures of my lil pumpkin while I am away or at work.  We love when family send us pictures of Avery when we cannot be with her.  Especially, when I am working those long 24-hour shifts.  Here are some pictures in no particular order, that I have received since heading back to work and from our first night away last weekend.
Above is Avery's first time going with Grammy to pick her cousins up from school!
Below is when Grammy got her new stroller, which Avery loves!

Hanging out at Pepaw and Grammy's

Avery went to the NCSU vs Wake Forest game
At the game in a new outfit after a little accident.  Sorry Grammy!
She had so much fun hanging out with Aunt Robyn
 Ready for bed!
Aunt Roni got a video of Avery talking to her while mommy slept after a long night shift.  Mommy is so glad Aunt Roni can come Wednesday mornings so she can sleep when she gets home from work!
Gigi and Papa also watched Avery on a Saturday night, so we could go out.  They had fun with Avery and Sadie, while we enjoyed our picture texts and night out!

Of course daddy sends mommy pictures of Avery with sweet messages!

3 Month Photo Shoot

A few weeks ago we had some photos of Avery with Michelle Tomlinson Photography.  We didn't get as many as we had hoped for due to the weather and a certain little girl decided she did not want to smile.  Even with mommy and Grammy making tons of crazy noises and funny faces, she hardly cracked a smile for us.  She wasn't crying, but was content at watching us act like fools.  Our session also got cut short due to the huge thunderstorm that came through North Raleigh.  Here are a few...

Only got a few in her christening gown because the weather really started getting bad.

Mommy was able to get a few snap shots of Avery on the front porch...

Nothing better than her smiles.  I can never get enough of them!

Laughing and babbling

We cannot get enough of Avery's smiles, but it has gotten better....she's laughing!  After the State game on Saturday night, she babbled and cooed the entire way home.  It was the sweetest sound.  She listened to the after game reports and talked to all of us about her first game.  I wish I would have gotten it on video, but I will try and get it soon!  I also need to learn how to load a video to the blog.

Here's a picture of her laughing on our walk the other night...
I also captured some good pictures of Avery laughing on the front porch last week.

Avery goes to Carter Finley

This past Saturday we took Avery to her first NC State game.  We have been very excited about college football season starting and taking Avery to some games at Carter Finley.  Grammy and Pepaw are also very excited for football season, but they were even more excited to take Avery to the NCSU game vs Liberty.  Avery has a selection of NC State accessories and apparel thanks to Grammy.
She slept through most of her first tailgate.
Her buddy, Grant, stopped by with his daddy to hang out with us.  Grant loved playing with Pepaw's football.  Next time we hope to hang out with them, as well as his mommy!
Avery finally got up for her tailgate bottle and a wardrobe change before we ventured over to see some of our friends.
She did great in the game and spent most of it with Grammy, so mommy and daddy could relax.  Thanks Grammy!  It was a 6pm game, so Avery fell asleep in the final quarter.
Avery is going to her first NCSU away game this Saturday while mommy and daddy go to Melissa and Danny's wedding on Wrightsville Beach!  Hope she has fun and Go Pack!

3 MONTHS

Avery was 3 months old on Tuesday.  Mommy is a bit tardy on the post because she worked a 24-hour shift on Tuesday and then was exhausted when she got home from work Wednesday morning.  It is hard to believe she is already 3 months, but it feels like she has always been a part of our family.  Can't imagine life without our sweet angel.  Avery is so much fun and we are loving this time in her life.
Here is what she's been up to:
- She is scooting all over her crib.  She is never in her original position when we look at her on the monitor or go get  her in the morning.
- She's napping in her a crib more and sleeping 10+ hours at night (usually 8:30pm-6:30am then daddy feeds here before leaving for work and lays her back down for another 3hours).
- Lifting her head up well and enjoys sitting in mommy and daddy's lap.  She got in the exersaucer for the first time today and he little feet could touch the bottom.
- Starting to really enjoy her Bumbo!
- Wearing 3-6month clothing and is a size 1 diaper (We have decided that Pampers are the best for her little tushy).
- Still loving her lamb swing, play mat, and has a blast in Parker's old bouncy seat.
- Has begun to talk, babble and laugh with us.
- Bath time is her favorite time.  She has started kicking and splashing.
- Avery is so close to rolling over from back to front, she just needs to get her head over!
- She has the best smiles first thing in the morning and when changing her diaper.

Check out how much our sweet girl has grown...

She has started eating/licking her shirts/dresses if she can get to them.  Avery has also started to drool a little more, so she sometimes rocks a bib even after her bottle.

Looking forward to many more months!

Up Hill Both Ways

Remember the old saying, "I use to walk to school up hill both ways."  Yesterday Avery, Grammy and I walked up to St. Mary Magdalene, where Avery's cousins go to school.  Aunt Roni and Uncle Mike are at the US Open, so we were picking the girls up from school.  We decided it would be fun to walk since the weather was nice.  The girls were so excited to see Avery when they came out of school.  They were also excited about walking back to Avery and Aunt Becky's house.  Each of them took turns pushing the stroller, and we all made it up the hills.  Grammy packed a few waters in case there was any complaining, but no one whined a bit.  It was so much fun that they walked to school this morning from Aunt Robyn's house, where they are staying while their parents are in NYC.  It is really nice that the school and church are located in our neighborhoods.  Maybe one day Avery will walk to school.

Goodbye Irene!

The one good thing about Hurricane Irene was that Aunt Taylor and Andrew came to stay with us for an extra night this past weekend.  They live in Morehead City and were lucky not to have any damage to their home or cars.  Other than that, we were very glad to see Irene make her way out of town.  She took down 3 trees in our backyard.  The trees could not have fallen more perfectly and we did not have any damage to the house.  Our grass in the backyard took a bit of a beating and will need some re-seeding in the fall.  Sunday after Avery's baptism, Pepaw, Daddy and Uncle Ian cut the trees and put them out in the street for the clean-up crews on Monday.  We are going to take down a bunch of trees in the backyard this Sunday and Monday, so we don't have this problem when the next storm comes through.  So come on over this weekend for some tree-cutting fun and good food on Monday!

Some trees that split and Andrew checking out the damage Avery's playhouse.

 Clean-up crew!
Thanks for helping!
